Supporting the not-for-profit Hospitals of Morton Plant Mease

Your philanthropy helped fund innovative technology and programs at our hospitals, including helping upgrade the cardiac catheterization labs at the Morgan Heart Hospital at Morton Plant with next-generation technology, funding the latest in minimally invasive robotic surgery at Mease Dunedin Hospital with the hospital’s first da Vinci® Xi Surgical System, granting an advanced high-definition video strobe at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital to better evaluate vocal cord movement and assess for laryngeal abnormalities and funding the Ion Robotic Endoluminal System at Mease Countryside Hospital for minimally invasive lung biopsy.

Interventional Radiology

When it comes to stroke, time matters. Time lost is brain lost. Thanks to support from our community, Morton Plant Hospital and Mease Countryside Hospitals are both upgrading their Interventional Radiology departments with a new neuro-interventional biplane imaging system with a floor-mounted three-axis C-arm and a ceiling-suspended C-arm.

Nursing Services

Our hospitals are steadfast in their commitment to achieving compassionate, clinical excellence. Philanthropy helps attract, reward, recognize and retain talented nurses, provide them the tools to enhance their learning, offer professional development programs and distinguish our nurses as leaders.

Women’s and Children’s

The Foundation funds a variety of program and equipment to support women’s and children’s services, including the Angel Eye system. It allows families the ability to see their infants, receive updates, and view educational materials on any device with internet. This technology gives families 24/7 access to view their babies in the NICU to allow families to feel like an integral part of their baby’s care team.

Heart Care

Over the past few years, more than 1,200 donors stepped up to help raise $7 million for the Morgan Heart Hospital Community Challenge. Campaign support helped renovate the Morton Plant Hospital’s electrophysiology lab and catheterization lab, as well as build an additional hybrid operating room for our team of expert cardiovascular specialists.

Physician Education

We’re proud to honor our medical staff for their dedication and commitment to providing outstanding care. Our community helps fund the Family Medicine Residency program at the Turley Family Health Center that provides physician education and clinical training for 24 residents each year. The residency program supports 42,000 patient visits per year at Turley.

Cancer Care

Through heartfelt community support, the Foundation provides funding for nearly 10 programs aimed at granting a renewed sense of possibility to survivors and their loved ones. These initiatives encompass every moment that cancer touches people’s lives, from prevention and diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.

Morton Plant North Bay Hospital

More than $1 million has been granted to Morton Plant North Bay Hospital this year to help purchase state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging x-ray equipment for the hospital’s emergency department (ED). This X-ray machine will be dedicated to ED patients, whereas the machines in the radiology department will continue to be used for inpatients, outpatients, and walk-in patients.

Spirituality & Healing

Our Palliative Care program offers a holistic approach to relieving the pain, suffering and stress for patients experiencing chronic illness with emotional, psychosocial and spiritual support. The focus of this approach is on providing compassionate, specialized attention to the needs of patients and their families.

For more than 45 years, Morton Plant Mease Health Care Foundation has provided philanthropic support to the not-for-profit hospitals of Morton Plant Mease Health Care, including Morton Plant, Clearwater; Mease Dunedin; Mease Countryside, Safety Harbor and Morton Plant North Bay, New Port Richey. The close connection between the hospitals of Morton Plant Mease and their neighbors reveal a unique spirit of giving – a relationship characterized by people caring for the hospitals that care for them.
