Donald Roebling Society

The Donald Roebling Society is the oldest and largest donor society of the Foundation. It exemplifies the community’s passion for extraordinary health care and is named after one of Clearwater’s most notable philanthropists and former hospital board member, Donald Roebling. He gave decades of his life to Morton Plant Hospital and provided engineering advice, energy, drive, direction, and love. Roebling’s generosity, leadership, and legacy continue to impact the hospital today.

The Donald Roebling Society is a community-based group of volunteers and philanthropists dedicated to promoting and financially supporting Morton Plant Hospital through annual gifts.

Founded in 1916, Morton Plant Hospital was the first hospital built in northern Pinellas County. Known for advanced medical technologies, cutting-edge clinical research and outstanding patient care, Morton Plant Hospital is nationally recognized as a leader in the field. The 599-bed facility provides highly technical and specialized care to more than 50,000 patients annually and works in more than 50 specialty areas. Morton Plant Hospital is on a continuous path of transformation to meet the future health care needs of the community.
