Morton Plant Mease Foundation

This remarkable group of philanthropists have contributed $1,000,000 or more cumulatively over their lifetime to ensure that quality health care is available in our community.

Meet some of our Benefactors:

Shirley Long
Shirley Long sits on the Board of Directors for Morton Plant Mease Foundation and serves as the Chair of the Spirituality and Healing Committee.

The Spirituality and Healing in Medicine Program  works to provide support and stress relief to patients, families and team members.

One of the most innovative and valuable pieces of the Spirituality and Healing program is the C.A.R.E. Channel.  This Continuous Ambient Relaxation Environment Channel provides relaxing programming on the hospitals' televisions.  The channel features soothing music and scenery to facilitate a calming environment for the patient.  This program is Mrs. Long's most recent philanthropic contribution to Morton Plant Mease Foundation.

Wilbur & Madonna Ptak
The Ptak Orthopaedic and Neuroscience Pavilion, made possible through the kindness and generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Ptak, offers the most advanced outpatient treatments available for a broad range of conditions including, Parkinson's disease, stroke, hip and knee replacements, sleep disorders and hearing loss.

At the end of 2007 Wil Ptak once again made a significant donation to Morton Plant Mease Foundation.  This time it was a gift in honor of his wife of 66 years, Madonna, to establish the Madonna Ptak Alzheimer's Research Center, to be housed in the Ptak Orthopaedic & Neuroscience Pavilion.  This new research center will offer the latest medication options, research trial opportunities through alliances with major universities, direct patient care and family support services.
