Toast to Life
In 1975 the Auxiliary of Mease Health Care took responsibility for the Toast to Life fund-raiser. Over the years the Toast, orginally organized to encourage recognition, support and community involvement with Mease Dunedin Hospital, has become a remarkable example of how people coming together can work to improve the health of their community.
The beneficiary of the Toast to Life changes with each event to meet the needs of the growing hospitals. Past beneficiaries include the Women's and Children's Center at Mease Countryside Hospital, the pediatrics department at Mease Countryside, and the Emergency Rooms at Mease Dunedin and Mease Countryside hospitals.
